Hello Neighborhood Associations,
The holiday season is traditionally a difficult time to collect enough blood for patients in need since many people are so busy with travel and holiday plans; often delaying blood donations. To help ensure a safe and reliable blood supply, the American Red Cross will be holding the 32nd Annual Holiday Blood Drive on Friday, December 22nd at the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center from 7:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Annually this event draws donors and volunteers who generously give their time and blood donation. This year we expect more than 900 in attendance. All presenting donors will receive a Red Cross long sleeve t-shirt and have a chance to enter a drawing for great prizes! Free parking, childcare, entertainment and refreshments provided.
Blood donation appointments can be made by calling 1-800-RED CROSS
(1-800-733-2767) or online at redcrossblood.org. Enter sponsor code:
HBDMadison. Save time by using RapidPass to complete your pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of your donation, prior to arriving at the blood drive. To get started, visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass and follow the instructions.
(Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in IL, IA, MI and WI), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements. Please bring a photo ID or your blood donor card, or two other forms of ID when you come to donate.)
Attendees are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or a cash donation for
Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.
Thank you for your support of this great event!
Sincerely,
Michelle Meekma-Yaun
