National Pet ID Week is at the Dane County Humane Society, April 17-23
HomeAgain reports that ten million pets get lost every year, and without identification, 90% of them never return home. Libby (pictured with her family) was let out to go to the bathroom and unexpectedly took off. She was found in a park by some kind people and taken to Dane County Humane Society (DCHS). Luckily for Libby, she had a microchip and was returned to her owners within hours of her going missing!
In conjunction with National Pet ID Week, DCHS will be offering discounted ID tags ($6, includes tax) and microchips ($20, includes tax) the week of April 17 – 23 at the main shelter for both dogs and cats. Microchipping services will be offered on a walk-in basis from 1pm-7pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 1pm-5pm on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
DCHS also offers the microchip and ID tag engraving service throughout the year at regular prices (normally $8 and up for ID tags and $25/$40 for cat/dog microchips). DCHS is located at 5132 Voges Road, Madison, Wisconsin 53718. If you have questions about DCHS or Pet ID Week, please call (608) 838-0413.
