Prairie Maintenance and on-going Woodland Planting Watering
WORKDAY LEADER (contact): Jean MacCubbin (citizenjean2@gmail.com )
WORKDAY ACTIVITIES:
- For Prairie maintenance we will remove woody invasives bordering the Ready Prairie.
- Two to three volunteers needed to open up the service building and pull hose to water the new plantings in the woodlands between Owen Parkway and the parallel path.
MEET (time/location): Meet in the main parking lot. We divide the group, gather needed tools and get to work.*
WEAR/BRING: Sun block and bug repellant.
- For watering, we’ll like you to bring a hose or two, buckets and/or watering cans. We’ll try to connect hoses at the Main Shelter and t the Public restroom/service building.
- For invasive removals, wear gloves, bring shovels and clippers,
AND THERE’S MORE: Light refreshments and cool beverages.

Friends of Hoyt Park has a new website at https://www.hoytpark.org/ . The
Friends of Hoyt Park, Inc. (FHP) was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in 1995. The purpose of the FHP is to:
- support planning with the Madison Parks Division for the continued use of Hoyt Park;
- assist with the protection and maintenance of *Hoyt Park’s* diverse natural areas, historic structures, and recreational land;
- raise funds for the benefit of Hoyt Park;
- link with other organizations and institutions for the benefit of Hoyt Park and for the enjoyment and safety of its users in achieving these purposes.
