September 9, 16, & 23
A 3-day series is planned for people of all ages interested in learning more about how government works, how it affects older adults, and how to advocate to effect change at the local, state and national level. Issues important to older adults, services, resources and important information will be discussed by community leaders from both government and the non-profit sector. The workshop series is planned for September 9, 16 and 23 from 9:00-12:30 at 5915 Milwaukee Street, McFarland, WI.
- September 9th Speakers: Mayor Paul Soglin, County Executive Joe Parisi, Don Peterson, Village of McFarland, a Town Representative and Mickey Beil, Dane County Lobbyist
- September 16th Speakers: Health Care Initiatives/Legislation
Kitty Rhoades, Deputy Secretary, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Keith Nevitt, Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin’s Office and Tom Frazier, Retired Executive Director of CWAG (To be held at the McFarland Public Library) - September 23rd Program: Advocacy at the Local Level.
